Small family owned Vietnamese restaurant that does it right.

When I walked in, I saw a clean small restaurant with around 12 tables. The menu has a lot of the common items, I think the pork spring rolls are on of their specialties.

I tried the #25 pho and added spice to it. The soup is as good as any I've had in San Diego. I recommend this place

MSG galore. So so much MSG. My tongue is numb.

I ordered a #32 and partner ordered a #1. It's our second time here. Second time it numbed my tongue.

Also I made the mistake of not telling them I wanted egg noodles and not pho rice noodles as I ordered from the egg noodle section. Told the server and she said she assumed I wanted rice noodles because that's what's popular. I told her I don't like rice noodles...her reply...sorry and walked away. No , want us to switch it or can I get you egg noodles. Just oops your fault.

So my bad. So I just drank the broth and ate the little bits of meat. Then my tongue went numb and out of water. Sigh

Wow, what an awful experience. Let me start this review by saying that we ordered take out, so maybe our dinner would have been different had we visited the restaurant.

We started out by calling the restaurant to place an order for our group. The lady who answered asked us to hold, placed the phone on the counter, and walked away. After sitting for 15 minutes waiting for them to pick up, we figured we would try to hang up and call back. Nope, the phone was busy for another 10 minutes since it was off the hook. We ALMOST decided to forget it and order somewhere else, but, unluckily for us, we called back once more and actually got through. We were told 30 minutes and it would be ready.

So we get there at 6:45, our projected pickup time. THIRTY MINUTES LATER it is still not ready. Finally our food comes out, we pay quickly, and take it home to finally have our meal.

Unloading the boxes at home, we realize that they gave us incorrect items plus forgot some. For example, I had ordered the pork spring rolls, and somehow we got 10 fried egg rolls? But the spring rolls were no where to be found. The items that were correct were actually good, but this experience has really turned us off to this restaurant and we won't be back again any time soon. Better to go with Gold Dust Pizza right down the way.

Good Vietnamese restaurant in Oakdale! I was on my way back to the Bay Area from Yosemite and stopped by this town for lunch. My family and I have been eating camp food for the past few days so we were craving Asian food. I didn't have much expectation from this place since there are not a lot of Asian restaurants in the area but I was taken by surprise. I had the grilled beef salad (opted out vermicelli) and the rest of my family had pho. The salad has a good portion overall but it would've been better if there's more meat. I tasted the broth of the pho and it's on the sweet side but the flavor is well balanced overall. I like that the pho came out steaming hot.

Will definitely want to come back and try their garlic chicken the next time when I am in town!

I wanted Pho since I was feeling cold. Stopped here as we drove home from Murphy's. This place had great reviews.

I'll be short. The Pho was good. Slightly salty but a couple of drops of Sriracha and the salty flavor disappears. The soup could have been a bit hotter.

    The spring rolls were good.

This place needs to be cleaned.  The ceiling fans are covered with dust bunnies. This stuff falls where? Down and into our food we eat. So please clean your fixtures hanging from the ceiling. Everywhere else seemed clean.

Would I come back? Yes but only if I am craving Pho and only if I am in Oakdale.
